Monkey’s Bar (Monkey Bar) / Restaurante is a bar / restaurant where you can sit back and relax for a drink. You may see some wild monkeys around the bar.
If you are looking for a unique place to have a drink in Guanacaste, Costa Rica, look no further than the Monkey Bar also known as Monkey’s Bar / Restaurante . Its easily accessible by walking along Playa Matapolo from Riu Palace Resort and Riu Guanacaste Resort.
How to get to Monkey’s Bar in Guanacaste Costa Rica
If walking towards the ocean from Riu Palace take a left and continue down the black sand beach until you see a small sign that reads Monkey’s Bar.
Why leave the Resort to visit Monkey’s Bar
You may be wondering why would you leave the resort to pay for drinks when they are included in resort price. I’ll tell you why because the environment is awesome and if you come at the right time of day you will see monkeys climbing through the surrounding jungle.
After getting a drink continue to the White Sand Beach
There is also a monkey trail that leads back to the resorts, where if you go in the afternoon to evening you will most likely see some monkeys. But, if you continue the opposite way towards some volcanic rocks before it will lead you to an amazing white sand beach. Therefore monkey bar is a great halfway point to the white sand beach to sit back relax and have a drink.
The white sand beach was an great area to relax. Many vacationers do not go over there so it is like having your own private beach. There were much more fish underwater so bring your snorkeling gear. Also in he nearby jungle we saw even more monkeys. A whole family of howler monkeys were hooting and hollering. It was an amazing wildlife experience.
