5 Tips For Taking a 1 Year Old to Disney

You are never to young to enjoy a trip to Disneyland!

People thought we were crazy for taking our 1 year old to Disneyland.

We heard it all, “He will be too small for the rides” “He won’t even remember it”. We didn’t care what people said. He actually could ride nearly all the rides at his little size and yes he may not remember it all but Kayla and I will never forget the excitement it brought our boy when he came face to face with the Real Mickey Mouse!

Cash was absolutely obsessed with Mickey Mouse and we could  see nothing but pure joy as he watched it Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live and then got to meet all his favorite characters. It was perfect for him at his young age of 1. Now that we have taken him back at age 4 I’m even more thankful we took him at 1 because he experienced different things that he wouldn’t get as much excitement about now that he is  4.

Here are our 5 tips for bringing a 1 year old to Disneyland!

1. Don’t forget an extra changes of clothes. Accidents happen especially with little ones.

2. Know the height of your kiddo and see what rides you can ride. Surprisingly, we were able to ride most when cash was 1 year old. You don’t want to wait in line for a ride you can’t go on.

3. Plan your day to meet the characters and watch the shows. Meeting Mickey and watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live is more exciting for a 1 year old than riding a bunch of rides.

4. Take tons of photos and videos, they most likely won’t remember but you will never forget. Who doesn’t love looking at old photos and videos and reliving those moments! We always bring our GoPro and our Camera Phone ensuring to have extra batteries and memory to capture all the magical moments

5. Don’t forget your stroller . It is a must! You can easily use it to hold your diaper bag and push around your little one so they have more energy for fun! Plus there are plenty of “Stroller Parking Lots” to park your stroller while you enjoy the rides and entertainment .

Our most recent visit Cash was big enough to to ride all the rides at age 4 but with Kayla being 4 months pregnant it stopped us from riding a few select rides. Check out 5 Tips for Visiting Disney While Pregnant or our 5 Disney Hacks to Make Your Disney Trip Even More Magical!!!
