5 Reasons to visit Estes Park Mountain Shop before your visit to the Rocky Mountains

Estes Park Mountain Shop really surprised us. We had heard it is the place to go for rentals but we were impressed with the variety of gear for rent and for sale. The staff was very helpful!

5. Gear Rental

If you are going to Rocky Mountain National Park, make sure you have all the necessities your trip requires.

If you are like us and do not have your own gear, renting it from the Estes Park Mountain shop would be your best option.

We rented snow shoes, poles and sleds.

Since having younger kids, the sleds were what we used the most. We used our sleds at Hidden Valley once we entered Rocky Mountain National Park.

If you’re planning to do a lot of hiking, the shoes and poles would be highly recommended. They have adult and child sizes in both poles and shoes.

You can also rent ski and snowboard gear among many other things.

4. Merchandise for Sale

Estes Park Mountain Shop has a huge selection of merchandise for sale.

All kinds of clothing and hiking gear are available to choose from.

The first floor, (the bargain basement) – located next to the rental area downstairs has a huge amount of discounted merchandise for sale as well.

3. Friendly Service

The staff at Estes Park Mountain Shop are friendly and full of knowledge.

They got our rentals quick .

Then, showed us how to properly use them.

They answered every question we had.

2. Seeing and sizing gear in person

In the world of online shopping taking over, it is best to size and try gear on in person so you don’t have to worry about shipping returns when they don’t fit.
