1. Visit early in your trip.

We highly recommend making the Sandia Peak Tramway one of your first attractions to experience while in Albuquerque, NM.

With weather ever changing and unscheduled maintenance possible, your appointment to ride the Tramway could get postponed.

Therefore, we encourage that you book it for the beginning of your trip so you that have fall back days where you can still experience the ride during your trip.

Our first day was closed due to weather and the second day was closed for maintenance. Thankfully, we were still able to experience the tramway the morning of our departure from New Mexico.

2. Bundle Up.

It can be cold and windy at the top of Sandia Peak despite how warm it might be at the base.

We recommend bringing a good coat, and even gloves and a hat.

3. Dine in

Sandia Peak has a highly recommended restaurant called Ten3.

They offer casual dining during lunch hours and formal dining in the evenings.

They are open 11-730 Thursday- Monday.

4. Explore the top of the peak during your visit.

While on the top take a walk and see the Ski Slopes and the different views around the peak.

5. Get a Hike in

There is a scenic trail under the first tram tower. We recommend taking a little hike under the tram.

It shows you a great perspective of the mountain under the tram and provides great views as well.

Bonus: Ask questions during your tour.

The tour operators are very knowledgeable about the area and its history. They offer great recommendations and really enjoy sharing.
