New Baby Gender Reveal Ideas
There are so many things in live worth celebrating and recently Gender Reveals have become a more common celebration. We had Gender Reveal parties for both of our boys and each one we did different reveals. It’s exciting seeing the different and creative ways people announce their baby’s gender.
Party Ideas!
Both of our gender reveal parties we had everyone wear blue or pink showing their guess or wish of what gender the baby was. We had all kinds of decorations and food. Check out some cool ideas here below!
Reveal options!
Cake cutting – everyone loves cake!
For our oldest son Cash we did his Gender Reveal by cutting into a cake. We had the doctor write the gender on paper in a closed envelope and gave it to our baker. The baker then colored the interior blue or pink depending on gender. Obviously since he is a boy we had a blue cake! It was a great way to find out the Gender and your’e going to want dessert anyways.
Balloon Pop
With our youngest son we had a balloon pop. We ordered a black balloon that came with blue and pink confetti. We got the whole family together as we popped the balloon to find out Cale is a boy! It was so fun check out the video below!
Location
We have had our Gender Reveals at family members houses and parks. I feel its best to have it at a place like that where you won’t have a bunch of strangers around. It is a special time to spend with family and friends so we reserved a park area in advance that had a gazebo, picnic tables and a nearby playground for the kids to play. But if the weather isn’t nice a house works great for a gender reveal party.
Capturing the Moment
I almost always have a camera with me not just my camera phone. For the reveal parties I made sure to have a good setup. For Cash’s gender reveal I used a Point and shoot camera but if I could do it over again I’d use a GoPro because it has a nice wide angle lens that would be able to capture the cutting of the cake and most of our family and friends reactions.
When we had Cale’s gender reveal I tried a different setup. I had the GoPro in my hand while we popped the balloon and my DSLR on a tripod to capture our family and friends reaction. I then edited them together into one video. (Which can be seen above)
If I had a new one to do or if you want my suggestion I would recommend using a 360 degree camera like my GoPro Fusion so you could for sure get everyone’s reaction to the gender reveal with one camera. You can learn more about the GoPro Fusion here.
Other popular Gender Reveal ideas
I have seen many different gender reveal ideas. I think the golf ball and baseball gender reveal ideas are awesome as well. You can order them on amazon and when you hit the ball it breaks out a puff of color depending on youre babies gender.
