Romantic – Authentic – Italian Foodie Review Article about Prossimo Ristorante
Prossimo Ristorante also known as Prossima Ristorante is an amazing Italian Restaurant known for cooking and preparing their foods from scratch in house just as they would be made in Italy with an exception for few things imported directly from Italy.
It is located on Cherry Street in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
We went here for the first time in May of 2021. It was a fun romantic evening with my wife Kayla.
I made reservations a few days before so I could ensure we would have a table. There is a link to make your own reservations at the bottom of the page.
Vino – Wine
The drink menu is vast with something for everyone. The staff was friendly and answered all of our questions.
We started with a bottle of Orlana Vinho Verde from Peru. It is recommended as a wine that goes good with almost anything and is great for the summertime. We described Orlana Vinho Verde as subtly sweet. We both enjoyed it.
Food
The Dinner Menu is filled with unique Italian dishes. Amazing REAL Italian food you can’t get at most of the “Italian” chains around America.
They brought out some Sourdough bread imported from Tuscany, some foccia bread made in house along with three spreads, olive spread, garlic spread, and butter cream spread.
Aperitivo (Appetizer)
We opted for the table side Mozzarella. It’s prepared (you guessed it) table side. I was very excited having it prepared beside us while the chef described each step of the process. It’s made with level 2 extra virgin olive oil (highest quality olive oil that can be imported from Italy) and sprinkled with Himalayan red rock salt.
After enjoying our appetizer and bread we were surprised with house made lemon and raspberry Sorbet ice cream.
The lemon was my favorite!
Primo
For dinner Kayla ordered the Table side Alfredo (Handmade Pasta with Parmigiano Reggiano) They prepare it at your table within a big $600 cheese wheel.
The wheel is cut in half then soaked in whiskey (Christian walkers) then heated with a torch. Half of the wheel last’s around 22 plates of food at around 2 weeks time.
Secondi
I had the Pappardelle Bolognese. It is a plate of hearty meat sauce tossed with fresh pasta. Next visit, I will be more adventures and order the grilled octopus!
Contorni (Sides)
We ordered the carrots and asparagus. They are lightly seasoned in brown butter. It was delicious! Highly recommend.
The Ambiance
Primosso Ristorante has a romantic ambiance with low lighting, chandeliers and Italian art displayed on the walls.
They also have a romantic outdoor patio for you to enjoy as well.
The Staff
The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. We interacted with 4 members of staff each of them were very kind and filled with skills and knowledge.
Overall
Overall we enjoyed our experience at Primosso Ristorante and will be coming back again to try other dishes!
