When we set out to find an RV we took our time to find something that balanced comfort, functionality, and ease of towing, and the Jay Feather Micro 199MBS quickly stood out. It’s been our home away from home since the summer of 2025.

One of the standout features of this camper is its floor plan.
It has a Murphy bed that folds away with access to a couch.
The slide-out / dinette gives us extra room to move around, and the kitchen is well-equipped without taking up too much space.
There’s even a spacious bathroom is a great size and we love having endless hot water with our tankless hot water heater.
With endless hot water we sometimes fill up our grey tank a bit quicker sometimes so we really enjoy having our “Tote Tank” with us on our adventures where we don’t have full hookups.
One of the biggest selling points for us are the bunk beds in the back.
They are comfortable and large and have built in lights and chargers which are perfect for our boys!
2. Smaller Size = Easier Towing and more time outside
At just under 24 feet in total length and a Gross Vehicle weight of under 5,000 lbs, the jayfeather micro is ideal for mid-size SUVs and trucks like ours.
It’s small enough to fit into tighter campsites, yet roomy enough to never feel cramped. Whether we’re boondocking for a weekend or pulling into a full-hookup site, it’s easy to maneuver and quick to set up.
It is our first ever camper and the first thing I have ever towed ( I hadn’t even pulled any kind of trailer until now) but it has been super easy and comfortable to pull after a short time of learning.

We did a lot of research before choosing this model, and the positive reviews from other Jay Feather owners really gave us confidence.

What really adds to the experience are the outdoor features built into the 199MBS. We love the exterior mini fridge for grabbing drinks without running inside, and the grill and quick connect hookup makes it easy to cook outside on nice evenings.
There’s even a spray hose to rinse off sandy feet, muddy shoes, or the dog before heading inside. Add in the pass-through storage, and we’ve got plenty of room for chairs, games, fishing poles, kayak accessories, and tools without cluttering the inside.

5. Easy for Family Fun and Spontaneous Trips
Our favorite part? The 199MBS makes it easy to take off for a weekend trip with minimal hassle. Setup is simple, and the features strike a great balance between convenience and comfort.
Whether we’re camping as a couple or bringing the kids, we can unwind, cook meals, and sleep comfortably without a second thought.
