I have been attending the Darryl Starbird Rod and Custom Car Show in Tulsa, Oklahoma for many years. Over the years I keep going because it’s different and exciting each year.
There’s many reasons I keep coming back but here’s my 5 favorite parts of a Darryl Starbird Car Show.
The Variety of over 1,000 cars
I love seeing the variety of cars. New, old, stock, custom, luxury, exotic and more. No matter what kind of cars you like you will find them here. My favorite is my grandpas 31′ Ford Roadster.
Fine 9 Award
Every year they have a selection of amazing works of art competing for the fine 9 award. These cars have been on the covers of magazines, and are truly remarkable works of art. The winner receives $10,000.
Entertainment
Some complain that the Starbird show is expensive but when you look at what all you get for the price it’s totally worth it. The entertainment is what makes it worth it to me. I love seeing the motorcycle stunts and demolition derby. They also have freestyle hooning with burnouts and flamethrowers.
The Starbird Cars
I love seeing the cars that Darryl and his family have customized and created. It’s amazing how original and unique they are with their creations.
The Guests
Celebrity Guests –
Every year they bring out stars from different automotive tv shows or magazines. You can usually do meet and greets and get photos and autographs.
Artists –
I love seeing the pinstriper artists and the art they create. They will pinstripe whatever you want for a price. I’ve seen people get all kinds of things pinstriped from toys, to toilet lids.

Great photos!! This might be the first time in 25 years or more that we did not attend. My husband has been showing cars all this time and we love the variety that the Starbird show provides. Definitely worth the cost of admission. Thanks for sharing xoxo
